Admission procedure for Classical, Early-Music, Jazz, Sonology and Music Pedagogy: bachelor and master


Step I: registration via the website, sending in recording(s) and administrative information
Send the documents, materials and recording listed below before April 15 2010 to the following address:

Sending a recording
A recording (CD, tape, video, DVD) of yourself with a repertoire list. Maximum length of the recording is 20 minutes. Please, add a repertoire list in which you also explain why you sent in this selection. Choose one piece of the list that according to you the committee should listen to and motivate why this piece. Be aware that you send in a recording that reflects your full technical and artistic ability as much as possible. Make sure that the pieces on the recording vary in style and tempo.

Additional for classical singing: two letters of recommendation from two different persons.

On the homepage of our website, www.koncon.nl, you can find the admission requirements (see: "General information 2010-2011"). Here you can find information about what you need to know and be able to do, to be admitted to our conservatoire.

Master study
For admittance to the Master programme, it is also important that you send in a study plan. The guidelines of the study programme can be found on our website: http://www.koncon.nl/aanvraag/studerenKCEN.html

Level of english
To study at the Royal Conservatoire your spoken and written English should be good, meaning on the level of a score 6 of the IELTS test. The English skills of the applicants are tested during the entrance examination.

Your recording will be evaluated. A positive outcome will lead to an invitation (by e-mail) for the entrance examination.

Step II: entrance examination (Practical, Theory and English)
- Evaluation of the live entrance examination by the committee: negative or positive. If positive then artistically admitted to the conservatoire, then only step III

Step III: after having paid the study fees (plus all the required documents) officially enrolled as a student of the Royal Conservatoire
